Uche Sparks Straightforward Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
