Iran is ready to restart atomic discussions with the United States provided that it is approached with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has declared.

Abbas Araghchi declared only diplomacy was effective, and revealed new appeals had come from intermediaries to resume negotiations with the American leadership. He asserted Iran possessed no secret atomic facilities, and Tehran could not yet allow the global atomic watchdog to access attacked atomic facilities for protective measures.

Navigating a Complex Route

Araghchi is walking a challenging path since Iran does not want appear to be proceeding from a stance of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out stronger militarily and psychologically from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel on home soil that it will never give up" – the key factor of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Talks Abruptly Concluded

The earlier sessions of negotiations between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and bitter end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that culminated with the US president claiming the locations had been destroyed. Following this, Western states used their right to reinstate UN-wide sanctions, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Tehran representatives said they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since home-based processing would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the talks that American atomic experts could work within Iranian territory, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Representatives asserted on multiple occasions they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the agreement to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Existing Situation

Tehran representatives said the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems quite possible the proposal could be reintroduced in certain ways if discussions restart.

The US president recently said he had been receiving messages that Iran sought to restart talks, but privately Iranian officials state they are not yet receiving clear proposals from Washington either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Iran's state department has been accused of inactivity in the face of the US president's straightforward manner, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a performance.

Political Standpoint

In his speech to the gathering, designed to paint the US as a controlling nation that abuses the notion of global regulations, Araghchi stated the fortnight-long engagement showed the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He asserted the strikes started with a US demand for an total Iran submission and culminated with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is certain the initial Israeli attacks were carried out with total Washington understanding and coordination, making faith hard to rebuild.

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled negotiations; it was the United States and the Western nations that had consistently attempted to enforce their demands during the negotiations. Restoration and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the struggle of restoration and reconstruction, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been rebuilt. We learned numerous insights from this war; we have discovered our personal limitations and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He stated: "We managed to survive this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place. The facilities and gear, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is important is the will of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but failed to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have developed more resilient, more cohesive, and more backing of the government and the nation in the aftermath of this invasion."
